The Split:The public open letter promised enterprise brand safety, institutional decorum, and reassurance that the platform would remain a respected commercial town square. In private and impromptu public reversals, advertisers attempting to pause spend were met with threats of 'thermonuclear' public retaliation.
The pivot from 'most respected advertising platform' to 'go fuck yourselves' took less than twelve months. The open letter was an attempt to maintain commercial cash flow while the actual operating preference was combative personal sovereignty.
