The Split:When the emails leaked, Boeing claimed the vulgar messages 'do not reflect the company we are'. In reality, the employees were executing the exact cost incentives written into multi-million-dollar airline contracts by senior leadership.
'This does not reflect who we are' is standard corporate grammar for: this is exactly how we operated, but we wrote down the penalty clause in private.
